OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE: To deliver exceptionally built homes while ensuring a stress-free, enjoyable building experience through clear communication from a dedicated team.

• You will benefit from our 30 years of experience in the building industry.

• Withstanding the test of time, we have built numerous new homes and repaired and renovated over 160 earthquake-damaged homes.

• You will be dealing with a local Canterbury company based in the Selwyn district that understands the unique geo-technical and consent needs of building in Canterbury.

• You deal with owners and builder; Peter Bee and Deb Thompson-Bee directly – not just a salesperson.

• We are transparent in our building process and pricing.

Two types of costing structures are available:

  • Your project can be broken down with each stage priced separately or

  • A charge-up contract if this is better suited to your project.

We are locally owned and operated with a reputation for delivering on time and on budget.

We pride ourselves on approachability, communication and going above and beyond expectations. You won’t find a team as dedicated as ours.

Established in 2015 by seasoned builder Pete Bee, Senna Homes was born out of a vision to redefine the building experience, going above and beyond and giving a down-to-earth personal approach to building. With a focus on extensions & renovations, reclads, new builds, and landscaping, we bring over 30 years of building expertise to every project we undertake.

  • Owner & Director / Trade Qualified Craftsman Carpenter

    Originally from Wellington, Pete continued his career in Christchurch while raising two boys. In the last few years, he has balanced life between Christchurch and Twizel with projects in both areas.

    As a licenced building practitioner, Pete manages all projects personally. He is onsite building alongside the team to ensure that every aspect of your building project is completed to the highest of standards. He provides comprehensive support to you as his client throughout project managing and building, making sure your build is a success and delivered as promised.

    With over 25 years of residential and light commercial building experience from new builds to renovations, Pete has developed an impressive wealth of construction knowledge and expertise. Combining these skills with his ability to manage projects enables Pete to deliver projects as planned.

    Pete builds strong relationships with our clients and believes communication is an integral ingredient to a successful build.

    Pete enjoys spending time with his family boating in the Mackenzie District lakes and fishing the canals. He loves the outdoors and balances that with a Ducati collection and flying remote-controlled helicopters.

  • Office Manager and PA

    Meeting Pete in 2013, each with our own two children, now grown and flown the nest, so to speak.

    Spending the last 25 years in the Financial and Insurance Services industry, including Asset lending and Mortgage Broker, now takes great pride in her multiple roles within Senna including Office Manager, Marketing and Client Liaison (assisted by Lily and Max, our fur babies). Its my job to assist in any way I can to help our clients achieve their dream home. One of our core values that really motivates our team is reliability; we mean what we say, and follow through with our actions.

    Deb is Mum to her two wonderful adult kids Nic (also now a builder) and Shannon (Mum of Layla, our little granddaughter juggling Motherhood with her own coffee cart business). She is also Step Mum to Jackson (apprentice plumber) and our youngest Cas (short for Cassidy – we aren’t allowed to call him that though, she says)

    She loves include hiking in what our beautiful mountains of the South Island, water sports in our lakes and cycling or just hanging in the garden with our two fur babies, yoga and pilates. An active relaxer.
